Tasting tips :
The colour is a deep garnet red.
The nose is open with earthy hints, intensified by the method of production which presents aromas of vanilla and red fruits (red currants) with grilled overtones.
On the palate the structure is robust and opulent with dense tannins.
The aftertaste is dominated by the fruit; the finish is on the silkiness of the tannins.
Can be drunk now and would go well with a joint of beef but perhaps better to wait until it has reached maturity (3 – 10 years), then it may be drunk with more complex dishes, for example game or dishes elaborated with rich sauces.
Awards :
Médaille d'or - Challenge International du Vin 2010 (millésime 2008)
